There’s no doubt, we had the chance to take part in a lot of spectacular weddings in 2015. Here are four that really stand-out in our minds:

Chic Mountain Ranch Wedding

Tomlin-Dial Wedding, June 2015

Location: Flying Diamond Ranch, Steamboat Springs, estimated 500 guests

This Ralph Lauren-inspired wedding was one the first big events to take place at Flying Diamond Ranch, a hot new nuptial site outside of Steamboat Springs. We built a wedding deck facing the open expanse of the land, in a location that highlighted amazing 360-degree views. Along with the deck, we constructed an arch using downed aspen trees on the property. Following the ceremony, a cocktail reception took place in a nearby grove of aspen trees where we installed cocktail tables and bars in the open air that looked to be made from huge aspen trees, giving a very unexpected, living room feel to the middle of the forest. A teepee, with lights strung from the branches for the nearby trees, added to the whimsical effect.

In the nearby clear top tent, where guests dined and danced, beautiful chandeliers and added greenery brought the outdoor feel in. Custom wood stage fronts in a warm brown wood stain matched the bars. Beautiful Restoration Hardware-style lamps gave the event a romantic, candlelit effect; right up until the moving lights they installed transformed the celebration into a disco dance party. A little deck adjacent to the tent featured lounge furniture in a luxe, natural color fabric that fit the organic aesthetic the couple sought.

Luxurious Traditional Ballroom Wedding

Chavez-Caruso Wedding, July 2015

Location: Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch; estimated 185 guests

Luxury met tradition in the most beautiful way at this July 4th wedding, with clean, white furniture, crystal chandeliers and cream draping. This couple wanted a beautiful ballroom look for their summer wedding. Following the ceremony on the Skier’s Bridge at the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, wedding attendees headed into one of the resort’s ballrooms for the reception. The hallway leading to the ballroom reception was draped in fabric and lined with floating candles, creating an elegant entrance. Inside, the walls were draped in a raw silk cream-color fabric with crystal beading. The draping, paired with perimeter up lighting, gave the room a warm, intimate feel while crystal chandeliers over the cake table and two bars added to the opulent feel. Pin spot lighting created soft pools of focused light on the gorgeous flower arrangements on the custom-built, bar-height white lacquered tables paired with white leather Louis XVI-style bar stools. Along with beautiful floral arrangements, mercury glass tea light lamps and votives adorned the table tops. Inviting, luxe lounge spaces replete white leather sofas and benches with white, cream and matte gold throw pillows beckoned to attendees. When it came time for dancing, a white dance floor revealed a custom monogram with the bride and groom’s initials.

Mountain Chic meets Kate Spade Wedding

[soliloquy slug=”ketchum-massie-wedding”]

Ketchum-Massie Wedding, August 2015

Location: The Arrabelle at Vail Square; cocktails and dinner under an outdoor tent in the square followed by dancing in the Arrabelle Cortina ballroom

Inspired by Kate Spade’s designs/patterns and the mountain location, this bride opted to bridge two different themes that aren’t often combined for her unique-yet-stunning mountain wedding. After the wedding ceremony on the Vail wedding deck, guests headed for cocktails and dinner, held in a tent at Arrabelle Square. Inside the tent, navy and white drape, hanging floral pomanders, gold custom-painted escort cards and the geometric tables all felt very Kate Spade glam, especially next to the rustic cross-back wood chairs. Tabletops were decorated with wood cut table numbers in gold while navy and white striped linens were the base for a collection of gold geometric terrariums and lush flower arrangements designed in gold architect vases.

Inside the ballroom, where attendees danced the night away, custom built bars featuring the bride and groom’s initial monogram and six-foot custom drum chandeliers with luxe navy fabric covered the existing shades, created drama and transformed the space with the chic, young vibe the couple sought. Marquee letters N & F were hung as band backdrop and guests danced the night away on a custom white dance floor featuring the couple’s monogram.

During dance breaks, guest hung out in an all white luxe lounge area offset with gold accent tables and gold with white polka dot decorative pillows and ottomans. Everything about this wedding was very customized, making it one of the highlights of the summer season.

Organic Meets Luxury Ballroom Wedding

[soliloquy slug=”soloman-hirvela-wedding”]

Soloman-Hirvela Wedding, October 2015

Location: The Arrabelle at Vail Square

The ceremony for this fall destination wedding took place under a beautiful arbor decorated with white florals and greenery. In the reception space at The Arrabelle at Vail Square, farm tables were brought in, adding to the organic vibe. Paired with acrylic ghost chairs, this wedding bridged glam and rustic in a gorgeous way.

Pin spot lighting enhanced the stunning Vintage Magnolia floral arrangements. Along the back wall of the ballroom, custom champagne and ivory voile fabric draping and vertical rows of white twinkle lights brought a romantic, luxurious feeling to the room. Leko lights with gobos were installed to shine on either side of the band backdrop, creating “branching leaves” on the draping and the white dance floor, furthering the event’s pretty and organic look.
